13.4.5 Install SQL Link

Installing the SQL link performs the same steps as installing BDE, selecting only the SQL link check box in Figure 13.7, and then performing the installation, selecting the SQL database server to which the application will be accessed, and Setup automatically installs the BDE when you choose to install SQL link. Depending on the SQL database server selected by the user, the installer automatically prompts for specific information, such as the link (SQL link) of the Informix database system needs a place to place the message file. Each SQL link that the user selects uses one or more additional dynamic-link libraries (DLL files) that are to be copied to the BDE directory, and the following are the DLL files required by the SQL database system common to build SQL link.

1.ORACLE Database

In addition to the following files, the application requires the client-side connection product and network protocol interface of the Oracle database management system when building Oracle SQL link.
