Some time ago, a 3D GIS project in the studio passed the acceptance test. The project owner was the southern county Meteorological Bureau. The studio only invested two people to perform rapid development on the koalagis platform, it took about two months to complete the system development of the entire project. Although some problems were encountered during the period, such as demand changes and platform performance bottlenecks, they were solved through the joint efforts of koala members. After the accumulation of this project, the koalagis platform has been able to support mainstream 3D display platforms in China: skyline, kelan 3dvp, and weijingxing citymaker.
The project is a B/S system. The 3D platform uses skyline, the front-end framework uses extjs, And the backend uses Asp.net MVC. The main functions of the system are divided into three parts: 1. display real-time meteorological information; 2. query historical meteorological information; 3. Spatial Analysis of meteorological information and early warning and disaster solution generation. The project functions will not be described in detail. after the project is completed, I have some insights on the application of 3D GIS in other industries: 3D GIS can be used better. This requires every giser to further tap into the potential and think about the industry. It also requires giser to have closer communication and cooperation with other industry personnel. I can classify it into the following two points:
1. How to Integrate 3D GIS with professional application requirements to broaden the application scope of 3D GIS.
It is not the need of professional departments for the real basic geographic information and spatial analysis capabilities provided by 3D GIS, but how to meet these requirements. Taking the expression of meteorological information as an example, the loading of all cloud maps and the distribution of meteorological disaster points require precise 3D GIS data. How to promote this accuracy is worth studying.
2. How to create new demands based on the combination of 3D GIS and professional application requirements.
Some professional information can be combined with 3D GIS to create more useful functions and create new application requirements. For example, meteorological disaster warning and rescue are difficult to effectively implement in two-dimensional situations, but such requirements can be well solved in Three-dimensional GIS.
