A tutorial on the effect of text effects on the PS making button

A few weeks ago, I wrote a tutorial on how to make a fashion metal button, and at the end of that tutorial, I showed a button for the lighting effect, and a lot of people wanted to know how it was done.

In this tutorial, or in this quick tip (because this tutorial is just based on last week's tutorial), I'm going to teach you how to make a simple lighting effect button that uses only layer styles, blending modes,

and Blur filters.

Effect Chart:

1th Step

Open the PSD file we made in the previous tutorial and hide the logo in the middle so that we can make a lighting effect in the middle.

2nd Step

Input your favorite text, I use "start", color is not important, because we will eventually use the layer style to make the effect

3rd Step

Open the layer style, select the color overlay, and use the color #5ba0c8

4th step

Select inner Glow, blending mode is simple color, opacity is 65%, color is white, source is center, other settings are as follows

5th step

Select the outer glow, blending mode for color filtering, opacity 42%, color #33b5ff, other settings are as follows

6th step

Select Inner Shadow, black color, blending mode for color deepening, opacity 76%

7th step

The following steps are important to create a scan line effect, to do this, is very simple, create a new file, 10 pixel width, 2 pixel height, and then create a 10x1 black rectangle,

You'll see half a black rectangle, half a white rectangle. Then click Edit > Define Pattern

8th Step

Create a new layer, fill the layer with the pattern you just defined, get the effect of the above image, then select the text selection, and use the layer mask to make the scan line appear in the selection of the text

9th step

Change the blending mode to overlay, and get the following effect

10th Step

Copy the text layer, filter > Blur > Gaussian blur, Radius 10, the copied layer into a group, change the blending mode to, soft light

Conclusion

You can merge all the layers, copy two copies, and use Gaussian blur for the two copies, a layer below, change the blending mode to overlay, and the above one select the blending mode as the color filter
