A good team is to let the team grow, not breathe

The author has observed many characteristics that can generate excellent teams:

◆ Process: scrum, lean, and XP. There are also some traditional processes, such as RUP (Unified Software Process), PMBOK (project management knowledge system), and so on.

◆ Environment Creation conditions: Teams, team rooms, charts and whiteboards that are visible at any time in the same location.
However, they discovered that rules and practices may put too much burden on a team's processes and information. Relatively, the author suggests focusing on the growth of the team. Based on their experience, this can be divided into 3 + 2 ".

Three Principles:

◆ Product orientation-always focus on product requirements. No matter when the team considers new practices or ideas, they must ask themselves how to make them serve the product's needs.

◆ Step by step-each item of work should be divided into small enough tasks to complete. Most people are eager to take tasks that exceed their capabilities. Splitting a task into smaller blocks means that we can complete the task within a smaller time box cycle.

◆ Visible at any time-as a member of the most obvious rule, it is rarely followed seriously. When we cannot see what our team members are doing, we do not know where to start to play a role. We are struggling to move forward. After increasing visibility, other team members will have more opportunities to intervene in the process and provide effective ideas to solve our problems.

Two practices:

Conversation and Structure-they are used to balance the above three principles. "The conversation requires a complete structure of protocol support to ensure that we can communicate effectively ...... People need to reach an agreement and talk to each other, so that we can generate, contribute, and share meaningful thoughts and thoughts ."

How can you tell if you have a good team? From the author's point of view, they need to present one of the following features:

◆ Follow agile and lean principles
◆ In the same location
◆ Highly harmonious team members
◆ Team members share their thoughts and ideas equally. The idea is not owned by others.
◆ Brainstorm as a group
◆ Self-assignment
◆ Fully understand the business objectives and focus on submitting features that meet the business priority
◆ Team benefits higher than individuals
◆ Quickly master the required new skills to help the team
◆ Team members motivate each other to give full play to their best practices
◆ Ultra-high productivity-ultra-high productivity means a sustainable productivity that is at least 4 times the industry average. (Jeff Sutherland, CTO of patientkeeper, and co-initiator of scrum)

Excellent Teams are very valuable to the business because they are agile and can adapt to the changing business environment.
