A little experience with using Photoshop to make Black-and-white photos

In general, Black-and-white photographs can be more historical and stale than color photographs. If you don't think of it in black and white at the time of filming, then we can use Photoshop to convert color photos into Black-and-white photos. There are a lot of ways to convert, below we have a picture of a little Lori to explore the production of black and white photos of the experience bar!

Everybody follow my steps to do it:

Copy the background layer, and execute menu command "image" → "Adjust" → "Go Color", shortcut key ctrl+shift+u, you can completely remove the picture color, leaving different degrees of gray effect.

Let's make a black-and-white photo in a different way. Hide the black and white layer just now, click on the button shown in the red circle and create a "channel mixer" adjustment layer on top of the background layer.

In the Pop-up Channel Mixer dialog box, check "Monochrome", the picture immediately become black and white effect! Try adjusting the parameters of the slider shown in the blue circle below, is the black and white ratio free to change?

Tip: As long as three parameter values and 100, you will achieve the effect of black and white balance! Try it, is this method much better than "Go color" command?

Summarize:

1. Use the "Go Color" command to achieve the fastest black and white effect, but what you see is what you can not adjust the ratio of black and white.

2. The use of "channel mixer" adjustment layer is troublesome, but you can adjust the black and white ratio, to achieve their desired results.

In fact, there are many ways to color black and white, in addition to the above two methods, there are gradient mapping commands, Mixed mode for "color" of the black Layer, change command, replacement color commands, matching color commands, hue saturation command, sponge tools and so on. Each method has its own characteristics, to say flexibility, or channel mixer adjustment layer method is the best, after all you do bad, you can double-click the adjustment layer thumbnail modified ~ ~
