A set of practical and popular sketch techniques to help you quickly draft

First, "Insert" the common shortcut keys

Which objects do you often need to insert when using sketch? Basically these are: artboard A, text T, rectangular R, rounded rectangle U, round O, straight L.

　Second, the most appropriate scaling mode

100% Actual Size: CMD + 0

Full Canvas preview: CMD + 1

Zoom in to a specific object: Select the object, press CMD + 2

Three, horizontal scrolling

If you don't have a trackpad, how do you scroll the canvas around? press SHIFT + MOUSE to scroll.

Four, hide/show side bar

If your device screen is small, you can get more display space by hiding the layer list bar (left column) or Inspector Bar (right column), and the shortcut key is cmd + ALT + 3. You can also only hide the left column (cmd + ALT + 1) or the right column (cmd + ALT + 2).

Use the shortcut key to Cmd +. You can switch between normal mode and presentation mode, which is useful when presenting your design.

Six, the ruler

You can toggle the display and hide of the ruler by using the shortcut key CTRL + R. Click on the ruler to add guides, and drag the guides to the left or right edges on the ruler to remove them.

　Vii. viewing the spacing of interface elements

For sketch, one of my favorite features is to look at the distance between the elements of the interface, you simply select an element and then press Alt to view the four distance values of the element to the edge of the interface.

If you need to see the distance between two elements, hold down ALT and then point the cursor to the second element after you select the first element.

If you press ALT and move the element at this point, you can see the distance change between the elements during the move;

Eight, scaling elements

No drag, select the interface elements, using the shortcut key cmd + directional keys can be 1 pixels per unit precision zoom. To scale in 10 pixels, and then hold down shift.

　　Ix. Naming and Grouping

When design projects become larger, the naming and grouping of interface elements becomes particularly important. Every time I create a new object, I will immediately through the shortcut key cmd + R to rename this element.

For example, I want to create a button. After the elements are placed, select them, use the shortcut key cmd + G to divide them into a group, and then through CMD + R for renaming, enter "button".

　X. Copying objects

If you are too lazy to use CMD + C and cmd + V to copy objects, you can also directly through the shortcut CMD + D to achieve. The copied object will be in the default position, if you think this is not OK, you can set the offset in the settings.

　Xi. Creating an interface flowchart

You can also use sketch to create an interface flowchart. A specific problem is that if you draw an arrow between artboard to represent the flow direction, sketch hides parts of the artboard boundary:

You can move all the arrow layers to the top of the list and put them in a large artboard with no background color. This allows the arrows to be displayed independently of the artboard of each interface.

Alternatively, you can build a large artboard at the bottom of all layers and set a proper background color. On the one hand, you can make the flow chart more level, on the one hand, you can also export this background artboard to put all the interface in a large picture file, rather than the normal way of paging export.
