About the latest Flash Player version [3]-Performance Testing

Several major bugs have been fixed: Device fonts and mouse monitoring; and IE8, flashplayer6 I wrote earlier, and flashplayer 8 I am currently in progress. I compared and tested the performance, the screen is as follows:

Description:

    • Operating Environment: Windows 7, core i7 1.6 MHz (little difference in earlier P-M 1.6mhz performance-single threadProgram)
    • Both flashplayer 6 and Flash Player 8 are set to high quality;

The results are interesting:

    • The execution efficiency of Flash Player 6 and Flash Player 8 is not much different. I thought the efficiency of the new Flash Player version should be decreased (about 130fps)
    • The execution result on IE 8 is confusing. I tested it at least three times and the results were the same (<60fps). I don't know why.

This phase has basically come to an end. Now we have started preparations for phase 3 (phase 2 is now abolished). The main task of phase 3 is to solve the hardware acceleration problem, it is expected that flash player can be run on the embedded platform with lower hardware requirements. It was originally planned to start development of Flash Player 10 next year, but considering that the official Flash Player 10 has been provided on the Google Android platform, from the current perspective, it is wise to compete for Flash Player 10 on the high-end platform and Adobe, so that the original Flash Player 10 plan is canceled;

For other compatible flash players on the market, there are already many pure software FLASH players on the market. The most successful is gnash. Its rendering engine uses compaction and supports OpenGL hardware acceleration, however, unfortunately, the software rendering efficiency of middleware is not flattering-this is also the reason why gnash is inefficient in pure software rendering; however, gnash has its own advantages over my player: gnash has a large number of excellent programs, so I believe that the rendering efficiency problem will be solved sooner or later. At the same time, it is gnash that brings together many excellent programs, the support of its ActionScript is relatively satisfactory-later updates should be relatively rapid; therefore, as a third-party Flash Player for embedded systems, I will not focus on software-only versions in the future-but more on platform-specific hardware acceleration (including DSP acceleration and hardware-only acceleration ).Algorithm....)
