In the global acceleration of IPv6 protocol standards, our domestic market is also following the international market, speeding up the promotion and deployment of IPv6 protocol standards. Now let's take a look at the development of IPv6 networks and the network deployment trends of domestic enterprises.
With the acceleration of global IPv6 network construction, the formulation of IPv6 standards is now showing a smooth and stable development. The development trend is: IETF is the subject of the formulation of IPv6 standards, this situation will not change in the near future, but in view of the importance of IPv6 and its huge impact on next-generation networks, more and more international standardization organizations are joining in the formulation of IPv6 standards. In particular, 3GPP, in the traditional sense, the Internet and mobile communication are two different industries. However, with the development of IP technology, the two industries have more and more commonalities, especially the proposal of the third-generation mobile communication 'full ip' solution. IPv6 becomes a public basic protocol for the Internet and mobile communication networks.
Although IPv6 standards originated in the Internet industry, in commercial sense, the mobile communication industry may be one of the earliest and largest beneficiaries. International Organization for Standardization (ISO), in addition to IETF's continued improvement of IPv6-related standards, 3GPP and ITU-T have also set up appropriate working groups to develop IPv6 protocol standards. Recently, IETF and 3GPP have jointly formed a working group to coordinate the application of IPv6 standards in third-generation communication systems.
Currently, IETF is focused on stream tags, addressing, DNS, DNS discovery, multi-connection subnets, Multihoming, source address and destination address selection, and IPv6MIB.
3GPP first proposed that the 3G version adopting the IPv6 protocol is the first GPRS version of the 1997 release ). It mainly uses the PDP standard on the user plane and uses IPv6 as an option on the transport plane. The release of ipv99 adopts the terminal PPPv6 support, IPv6 Address Allocation Mechanism, IPv6 Header Compression, and other standards. New IPv6 Header Compression standards are adopted in version 4. In the latest version 5, IPv6 is mandatory in the IU interface, that is, IPv6 is used in the multimedia core subnet.
ITU-T currently ITU-T and IETF have been in the field of IP standards cooperation. The ITU-T has a dedicated IP standard plan in which IPv6 standards are also listed.
The IETF3GPP IPv6 Design Group currently reviews the existing IPv6 protocol standards in 3G and numbers the corresponding standards. Work will be carried out in the following areas: IPv6 standard implementation in 3G, addressing methods, mobile phone-related equipment support routers, proxy servers), DNS, security, MTU, network evolution, remote management, and mobile IPv6.
Enterprises accelerate IPv6 Standardization
At present, in the development of IPv6 protocol standardization, IETF is mainly responsible for the formulation of IPv6 standards internationally. In IETF, there are two working groups related to the formulation of IPv6 standards. One is IPng next-generation Internet Protocol) working group, or IPv6 Working Group, mainly responsible for the formulation of basic protocols related to IPv6. The other is NGtrans next-generation network evolution) working group, mainly responsible for the formulation of standards related to next-generation network evolution.
In China, IPv6 standardization has been started. The first batch of content included in the standard establishment includes IPv6 basic protocol, IPv6 overall requirements, Neighbor Discovery, Stateless Address Configuration, mobile IPv6, routing protocol OSPF and BGP4, IPv6 standardization has become a global consensus.
As a globally recognized official certification institution of the IPv6 forum, in terms of employment, IPv6 Ready is a globally unified test, it can be one of the options for domestic and foreign vendors to stand on the same horizontal line. At present, the "IPv6 Ready" logo action implementation institutions mainly include the United States UNH-IOL, Europe ETSI, China Tiandi interconnect BII Group) and Japan TAHI/v6PC and so on. On this platform, domestic and overseas manufacturers are also fiercely competitive.
The standard has two phases.
The first phase is a basic test: encourage each organization to deploy IPv6 and notify everyone about the interoperability and consistency of devices and services;
The second phase is a complete test: checks and ensures the interoperability and consistency between devices and services according to IPv6 protocol standards, and adds enhanced feature tests for some indicators.
It is reported that, up to now, enterprises that have participated in the "IPv6 Ready" logo certification include Microsoft, IBM, HP, Cisco, Hitachi, Fujitsu, NEC, Panasonic, Samsung, and 6 WIND the product has successively participated in the logo action, currently, more than 300 products have been identified.
IPv6 protocol standards have been certified in China, currently, Chinese network equipment providers such as digital China, Huawei 3Com, ZTE, harbor, biwei, and beacon have participated in the IPv6 Ready certification, among them, only router products such as ZTE, Huawei, harbor, biwei, and beacon tower have all passed the first phase of IPv6 Ready certification, shenzhou.com has become the only switch product that has passed the "IPv6 Ready" phase-2 certification.
