After you start Office Access 2007, you can use tabbed documents instead of overlapping Windows to display database objects. To facilitate day-to-day interaction, you may prefer to adopt tabbed document interfaces. You can enable or disable tabbed documents by setting Access options. However, if you want to change the tabbed document settings, you must close and reopen the database for the new settings to take effect.
Show or hide document tabs
Click Microsoft Office buttons, and then click Access Options.
The Access Options dialog box appears.
In the left pane, click Current Database.
In the Application Options section, under Document window options, select tabbed documents.
Select or clear the Show Document tabs check box. When the check box is cleared, the document tab closes.
Click OK.
Comments
The Show Documents tab setting is for a single database. This option must be set separately for each database.
After you change the show document tabs setting, you must close and reopen the database for the changes to take effect.
A new database created using Office Access 2007 Displays the document tab by default.
Databases created with earlier versions of Access use overlapping windows by default.
