Access database to Excel workbook

The school wants to submit the alumni email address collected in the alumni in Excel file, in order to facilitate the mass invite alumni to participate in the 80 anniversary celebration. School Alumni database is an MDB format for access that contains multiple tables, and the alumni address is in a separate "Student" table. This is essentially a way to convert an Access table to an Excel worksheet.

Here are two different ways to do the work of converting an Access database to an Excel workbook.

First, export directly in an Access database

Open the Alumni database file with access, select the student table that contains alumni information, and then right-click and select Export command (Figure 1).

In the Open dialog box, change the save type to Microsoft Excel 97-2003 (*. XLS), and then enter the name of the file, click the Export button, and get a standard Excel workbook file later.

Note: In an Access program, you can easily export a database table to a DBF file, a Paradox database file, a text file, and many other formats for the call.

Open the exported file with Excel, delete the unwanted columns, keep only the names and the two columns of the e-mail address (Figure 2), then save, and finally pass the file on to the leader for review.

Second, with Accesstoexcel to help

If you are unfamiliar with Access database operations, you can use Accesstoexcel to help with this free software. Accesstoexcel, as the name suggests, translates an Access database into an Excel workbook.

Install and run Access Toexcel, click the Access icon on the left of the export Access database file in the upper-left corner of the window, select the MDB file you want to convert in the Open dialog box, and open the database file.

Reminder: This software comes with the ability to get Access database passwords, but the algorithm is not comprehensive enough, if you do not get the database password to open pop-up prompts, under Access database password, manually enter.

Click the Get Database button under the Database Actions tab on the right, and you will see the names of the tables in the database (Figure 3) later under Datasheet Name list.

Select the table that you want to convert from the list, click the Get Field List button to list the fields in the table at the bottom left of the window, remove the tick before the unwanted fields, and then click the "Browse Data" button to verify that the item is ultimately needed (Figure 4).

Switch to the Export Data tab, click the Select Export File button, and enter the name of the Excel file that you want to export eventually.

Click the Export button to display the export progress below the window, and then click "Yes" in the pop-up dialog box to save it immediately. This will get the Excel file you need.

Open the exported file in Excel, and you'll find only the selected fields. As opposed to direct export, the front portion of the table exported using Aceetoexcel adds a caption If you do not need to remove it in Excel.
