Cause:
After the OS is installed with HMC, the local underlying management is logged on through HMC, and the upper OS-level management is logged on through Telnet/ssh.
After the system starts, the S1 port is used by the operating system for other functions. That is, it is occupied by other programs and cannot be used as a login. Unless the related program is stopped manually, the occupied port is released.
Solution:
Without a video card
1. After starting the system from the CD-ROM into maintenance mode, perform the following operations:
When the keyboard icon or information appears on the screen, press the number 5 or F5 key (whether to press the number 5 or F5 key, the models are different, under specific circumstances, refer to the Service Guide of the corresponding model to start the system to enter the maintenance mode.
(1) Select 3 Start maintenance mode for system recovery.
(2) select 1 access a root volume group
(3) Select the volume group
(4) select 1 access this volume group and start a shell.
2. Set the terminal environment variable (TERM) and enter the following in the command line:
# Export term = VT100
3. Then, enter the following in the command line:
# Smitty tty
In the displayed menu, select change/show characteristics of a TTY and press Enter;
4. Change the "RunTime" and "login" attributes of the currently used terminal device, and add "clocal" to: (this step must be manually added, rather than F4)

5. move the cursor to the bottom of the menu screen and use the F4 function key to change the value of apply change to database only to "yes"
