Fault symptom:

If the default BIOS version of the machine is earlier than 1.12, after you try to refresh the BIOS to version 1.12 or later, you will find that the built-in ODD optical drive is not recognized in the BIOS of the machine.

If the default BIOS version is later than 1.12, refresh the BIOS to version 1.12 or later, and you find that the built-in ODD optical drive is not recognized under the BIOS.

Affected models:

ThinkPad E560, built-in ODD optical drive machine.

Solution:

To solve this problem, follow these steps to modify the BIOS settings.


1. Start and press F1 to go to the BIOS settings page;


2. Select Security-> I/O Access-> Optical Drive and change it to Enable;


3. Press F10 to keep the settings and exit the BIOS.
