Implementing a custom mirror across geographies

Custom mirrors cannot be used across geographies. However, if you need to use custom mirrors across geographies, you can copy the mirrors. You can copy a custom mirror from the current domain to another location, or a system backup or a consistent application environment deployment in another geographic area.

Replication mirroring requires that the mirrored files of the source region be transferred to the destination region over the network, and the time of the replication depends on the network transmission speed and queue number of the task queues, requiring you to wait patiently.

Copy steps

To copy a mirror, follow these steps:

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Click a mirror in the left navigation. You can see a mirrored list.

Select the area at the top of the page.

Select the mirror you want to copy, the mirror type must be a custom mirror, and click Copy Mirror. In the dialog box that pops up, you can see the ID of the mirror you selected.

Select the destination region for which you want to copy the mirror.

Enter a name and description for the target mirror.

Click OK to create the mirrored replication task successfully.

Mirroring replication takes some time, waiting for a while to view.

Your destination territory automatically creates a snapshot and a custom mirror, waiting until the state of the mirror becomes available, and you can use a replicated mirror to create an ECS instance.

Cancel replication

When your custom mirror has not been replicated, you can cancel the secondary mirror copy if you decide you want to discard replication.

To cancel mirroring replication from the console, follow these steps:

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Select a mirror and click on the target region of the mirrored copy to see a list of mirrors.

Select the target mirror that you copied, and click Cancel Replication. You will be prompted to cancel the mirror copy and The Mirror will become a create failure.

Click OK to cancel the copy mirror.
