IP of classic network
An IP address is the primary way for users to access an ECS instance and an ECS instance to provide services externally. At present, the classic network IP address by Aliyun Unified distribution, divided into public and private network IP.
Private network IP
Each instance allocates a private network card and binds to a private network IP. Private network IP is required and cannot be modified.
Be careful not to change private network IP within the operating system, otherwise it will lead to the interruption of private network communication.
The communication traffic between instances in the same region through private network IP is free of charge.
Private network IP can be used in the following situations:
Load balancing of SLB
Inter-network exchange between ECS instances
Internal exchange visits between ECS instances and other cloud services (e.g. OSS, RDS)
Public network IP
By default, each instance is also assigned a public network card. and private network IP is different, public network IP is optional. If you select a public network bandwidth greater than 0 MB when you purchase an instance, the instance is created to assign you a public network IP.
Regardless of the billing method you choose, you will need to select the bandwidth limit for the public network when you purchase an instance. According to the bandwidth limit you choose, limit the bandwidth of the public network card out of direction.
The public net flow is charged.
Public network IP can be used in the following situations:
ECS instance and Internet Exchange
ECS instance and cloud service Exchange
Multicast and broadcast
Cloud Server ECS does not support multicast and broadcast.
