Error message:
The size of the map page in the ArcMap layout exceeds the default size of the default printer, such as JPEG, BMP, or Excel, the rendering will fail or an incorrect result will be drawn during export. When you use an image tag or an image to render a plane, it cannot be rendered normally during export.
In versions 9.2 and later, converting an image markup symbol into a vector using the "mark/fill in the vector layer with bitmap" option may also lead to improper rendering outside the default printer's default paper size range.
In addition, some specific plotting expressions drawn as inserted EMF will also be affected by this problem.
Cause:
If the inserted object or image appears outside the default paper size of the Windows default printer, the Windows GDI drawing called by ArcMap will not be able to draw the object or image normally in the output result.
Solution:
On some printers, select "use printer paper Settings" in the paper and print Settings dialog box to improve the problem.
Alternatively, set the default paper size of the Windows default printer to the same size as the page layout to be exported. For example, if the size of a map document is 17x22, set the default printer paper size to 17x22 or greater before enabling ArcMap.
1. Click Start Menu> Control Panel> printer and fax to open the windows printer and fax dialog box.
2. Right-click the default printer and a check prompt is displayed.
3. Select print preferences.
4. On the paper size tab, select the size of the paper that exceeds the size of the paper to be output. Click OK. The name and display of the "Printer properties" dialog box are displayed with different Printers/drivers.
5. Start ArcMAP, open the map document, and then export or print it again.
