The characteristic of the bridge mode is that its virtual network card is used as the actual physical network card to communicate with the outside world, and has no connection with the physical network card on its physical host. In others' opinion, the vmnet0 Nic actually exists and communicates directly with the outside world through a route. It can be understood that when you select the bridge mode, your virtual machine has been regarded as an existing machine by the outside world.

Therefore, the bridge mode can simulate the real environment. Such as SQL cluster experiment and failover. The bridge mode is not suitable for setting up DHCP and DNS servers, because it is easy to conflict with related servers within the company, resulting in unexpected problems, this problem may confuse extremely competent technicians.


Nat mode (N)

The Nat Mode features that the virtual machine and the physical machine share a physical network card. The virtual machine in the same network segment needs to access the outside first through the virtual network card, then through the physical network card and then through the route to communicate with the outside world. When it uses vmnet8 to communicate with a physical network card, the physical network card tags it. It can be understood that the virtual machine package needs to carry the proof of the physical machine to the outside world. Then it communicates with the outside world in the same way as the physical machine and the outside world. When receiving information, it first transmits the packet to the physical Nic from the outside, and then sends the packet to the corresponding virtual machine through tags.

Check whether the vmnet8 virtual Nic is installed on the physical host. This Nic is accessed by the physical host in vmnet8 Nat mode.

Vmnet8 subnet, that is, as long as the vmnet8 Nic is enabled on the physical host and the IP address is set correctly

Allows virtual machines to communicate with physical hosts.

The Nat mode is suitable for the experiment of building various servers. The Nat mode will keep your servers in conflict with external servers, and its functions are almost the same as those in practice, therefore, this model is suitable for testing some companies when building their internal network environments.
