1 What is auto-vectorization
We often hear about the automatic vectorization of ArcGIS, what kind of application is there, now for everyone to uncover the mystery!!!
ArcScan provides tools to convert scanned images to vector feature layers. The process of converting raster data to vector features is called vectorization. Vectorization can be performed manually by interactively tracing raster cells, or automatically using automatic mode.
The interactive vectorization process is called raster tracing, which requires you to track raster cells in your map to create vector features. The automatic vectorization process is called automatic vectorization, which requires generating features for the entire raster based on the settings you specify.
Some organizations need to convert raster images to vector-based feature layers, which may become the primary users using the ArcScan extension. Because a large amount of geographic information still exists in the form of hard-copy maps, it is important to provide a tool to integrate these documents into a GIS. These legacy documents can be obtained from engineering, surveying and mapping professionals. Scanning vectorization is an effective way to simplify this integration process compared to traditional technologies such as digital technology.
The ArcScan extension also provides tools that you can use to perform simple raster edits to prepare raster layers for vectorization. This approach, called raster preprocessing, helps you to exclude unwanted raster elements that are beyond the scope of the Vectorization project.

2, with video introduction
Below I will be through two videos into two small talk to everyone to introduce
2.1 Automatic vectorization tool in ArcGIS Arcscan initial knowledge
Introduces the initial knowledge of automatic vectorization tool in ArcGIS, first of all, the follow-up will be shown in detail in release 2-3. Incidentally introduce ArcGIS10.3 Chinese garbled problem
2.2 Arcs Automatic vectorization second talk
This paper introduces how to get higher quality results in Arcscan, the tools for grid cleanup in the early counties, how to use the eraser, magic Eraser, connecting cells for single, whole unit and batch raster cleanup, and finally how to auto-vectorize.
