For existing pattern fill objects, users can modify their pattern type, angle, spacing, correlation, and island detection style settings.
7.4.1 Instance 2 Modifying a fill pattern
Step 1 Open a graphics file
Start the AutoCAD 2002 system to open the instance file "EXAM6-1.DWG" created in chapter 6th;
Step 2 Modify the fill pattern
Now let's modify the angle and spacing of the fill pattern in the file. Select the icon on the Modify II toolbar and press the hint to select the pattern to populate the object, pop the Hatch Edit dialog box, as shown in Figure 7-11, and set the following:
(1) in the "Angle (angle)" box, enter 90.
(2) in the "Scale (proportional)" box, enter 15.
Click the button to end the modification, as shown in Figure 7-13.
Step 3 Save the file
Invoke the "save" command to save the changes you have made.

The Hatch Edit dialog box allows you to modify the pattern fill object as follows:
(1) "Quick (quick)": In this tab, you can modify the type of pattern fill, rotation angle, scaling ratio and other characteristics.
(2) "Advanced (Advanced)": Only island detection styles can be modified in this tab, others are not available.
(3) "Composition": for a pattern fill that has a correlation, the association can be canceled by the item, and the item is not available for a pattern fill that is not associative.
