Badboy Test recording software (which provides the recording script for jmeter)

Jmeter is a popular and popular open-source performance testing tool in foreign countries. Like LoadRunner, jmeter also provides a local proxy server (proxy server) to generate a test script, but this function is not easy to use. So this article introduces a more common method-generate a jmeter script using Badboy recording.

Here is a brief introduction to Badboy. Badboy is a good web automated testing tool. If you use it for non-commercial purposes or commercial purposes, but the number of machines that install Badboy cannot exceed 5, you do not need to pay for it. It may be a promotion strategy. Badboy provides the function of exporting the Web Test script directly to generate the jmeter script, which is very easy to use and simple. You can take the first step in the open-source world with the following experimental steps.

1. download the latest version of Badboy from the official website of Badboy;

2. Install Badboy. If the installation process is the same as the windows program file, double-click it to start Badboy;

3. Start Badboy. You can see the following interface.

Enter the URL of the Web application you want to record in the address bar (marked in the red box in the figure) -- here we take the http://www.yahoo.com as an example and click the go button to start recording. If you have used commercial tools such as LoadRunner, you will not be unfamiliar with this operation. ^_^

4. after recording, you can directly operate the tested application in the embedded Badboy browser (on the right of the main interface, all operations are recorded in the editing window on the left of the main interface. In this experiment, we enter jmeter In the Yahoo search engine to search. However, you will see that the recorded script is not a line of code, but a web object, which is a bit like the tree view in LoadRunner's vugen;

5. After recording, click "stop recording" in the toolbar to complete the recording of the script;

6. Select the "file-> export to jmeter" menu, fill in the file name "login_mantis.jmx", and export the recorded script to the jmeter script format. You can also select "file-> Save" to save it as a Badboy script;

7. Start jmeter and open the generated test script.

Maybe you are ready to use jmeter to process your work. ^_^ in the following sections, I will continue to explain how to configure a test scenario in jmeter and get started with jmeter Test Result Analysis, and how to parameterize jmeter scripts.

Of course, if you have strong hands-on capabilities, you will be able to get familiar with the content in just a few minutes. However, please allow me to help you complete the process from getting started to mastering jmeter. I believe that in this process, you will learn more about and experience in performance testing, and even some experience that cannot be provided by commercial testing tools such as LoadRunner.
