Device required: belkin7231-4p routing (I am 64 M memory 4 mflash), mobile hard disk or U Disk

1. First, format the hard disk (you can also save the original format. For details, refer to Step 4 to attach a USB flash disk or hard disk)

Format Ext2 in Linux format

You can use Paragon Partition Manager 7.0 server version for formatting in XP.

Connect the hard disk USB interface to your computer and find the second hard disk in Paragon Partition Manager 7.0. Delete the Partition on the mobile hard disk. You must delete it. Otherwise, it cannot be converted to the Ext2 format, otherwise, if you delete the hard disk on your computer, don't ask me how to recover it)

Create partitions in Ext2 format

OK

Select Ext2FS format (you can also select Ext3FS format)

Finally, click the application button in the upper left corner of the software.

After formatting, Hard Drive preparation is now complete!

2. Set vro

I brushed version firmware: DD-WRT v24 (05/20/08) mini

First, make sure that the SSH management function of your dd is enabled, and enable the jffs2 function. Make sure that you have enough space for flash.

Please note that you need to set up three items

1) Services --> Secure Shell --> SSHd --> Password Login is enabled, and the default port is 22.

2) English menu Administration --> Remote Access -->SSH Management
Chinese menu management> Common Management> Remote Management> SSH management enabled

3) English menu administration --> jffs2 support (select enable and enable for jffs2) (the clear option will automatically become disable in the future, so ignore this)
Choose Chinese menu management> General Management> jffs2 support (select jffs2 to enable and clear jffs2 to enable)(The clear option will automatically become disable in the future, so ignore this)

Save and restart the route

3. Install the driver

Install a software named winscp to transfer the drive program of the USB flash disk or hard disk to the jffs System of ddwrt.

For details about the settings, the user name is root. Change the IP address based on your route. The password is your own password. There are several warnings and group errors after the login connection, so ignore it.

After the connection, you can see the files on your computer on the left of the following interface, and the folders on your DD on the right.

Return the home directory as instructed

Drag the etc folder and lib folder in the compressed package to the JFFS folder in the main directory of DD on the right.

Close the software after uploading.

 

4. Attach a USB flash disk or hard disk

The USB interface that inserts the USB flash drive or hard disk into the route.

Add the following statement to the "dd management"> "diagnosis"> "command:

Mount/dev/mtdblock/4/mnt
Mount-o bind/jffs/opt

 

Note: The red mark is the different format of the mount file. The '#' Mark at the beginning is the statement I commented out. Depending on the file system of your USB flash drive, the drivers for mounting are also different. If you have selected the Ext3FS format, remove # Of # insmod/jffs/lib/modules/2.4.30/ext3.o. If you have selected the Ext2FS format, remove the # Above # insmod/jffs/lib/modules/2.4.30/ext2.o. If the format is FAT, comment out the ext2.0 and ext3.o lines and open the fat. o and vfat. o Lines.
When sleep 3 and later, they all change the file link in the system, mount the large-capacity USB flash disk to jffs, change the small flash of dd to mnt, and then prepare the/opt directory, prepare to install optware.

Select save startup command

After the installation, restart the route. If everything goes well, the USB flash drive lights will be on.

On the dd web Management page, we can see that the content of JFFS2 has changed to the size of your mounted USB flash disk or hard disk.

V. Remarks

After the USB device is mounted, if you do not want to use it after the download is complete and you do not want to use it after boot, enter the "manage diagnostics and keep" command. Click "Save startup command" to clear the command and restore the settings.
