BI project implementation process

I. Preparations for Project Initiation
1. Party A shall form a project committee. The committee should contain Party A's staff from all departments involved in the BI system construction project, and assign a Project Committee owner, fully responsible for project initiation, personnel and time coordination, requirement confirmation and change, project node acceptance, and project payment.
2. Party B sets up a project implementation working group, which includes project requirement Consulting Engineers and project technical implementation engineers, and designates a project working group owner, responsible for Party B's personnel mobilization, project node control, project delivery and acceptance throughout the project implementation, and establishing project archives for the customer.
Project files include: BI system construction project implementation workflow, project consulting requirements document, project implementation document, Project Team Member Address Book, Project Implementation Working Group member attendance record, Project phase acceptance document, project requirement change document, project acceptance document, and BI application system operation manual, all project files are archived after Party A confirms the signatures.
Ii. Project Application consulting stage
1. BI management system requirement survey
This step is performed by Party B's application Consulting Engineers and Party A's project committee leaders to separately confirm the requirements. Party B will sort the requirements and establish a project indicator system, define query dimensions for each management indicator. After the project committee owner of Party A organizes a group meeting for discussion, modify and supplement the requirements, and then confirm the requirements in the next round until they pass, party A shall sign the seal for confirmation.
2. BI system data requirements survey
After the indicator system of the BI system is confirmed, Party B's Consulting Engineers and implementation engineers, together with Party A's Project Committee
The leaders of Party B conduct data source requirements research respectively. After the data source survey is completed, Party B engineers organize the data sources and map the data sources to the corresponding indicator system.
To form a connection between the demand layer and the data layer. After the project committee owner of Party A organizes a group meeting for discussion, modify and supplement the data source definition,
Proceed to the next round of confirmation until the request passes and the Party A's leadership signs the seal for confirmation.
3. BI system application display Survey
After all requirements on the data layer and application layer are confirmed, Party B's Consulting Engineers and implementation engineers, together with the leaders of Party A's Project Committee, will conduct data presentation demand surveys respectively, determine the form in which the management index system of BI is finally presented to achieve the final solution integrating the demand layer, data layer, and presentation layer. After the project committee owner of Party A organizes a group meeting for discussion, modify and supplement the presentation form of the indicator system, and then conduct the next round of confirmation until the requirement is approved. The Party A shall sign the seal for confirmation.
4. After the above consultation is completed, Party B will sort out the project consulting requirements document based on the above three survey documents, and formulate the project implementation document in accordance with the project consulting requirements document. submit the documents to the leaders of Party A's Project Committee for confirmation. All documents are archived and stored in the project archives. At this point, the BI project application consulting phase has been completed.
Iii. Implementation Phase of the Project
1. backend data warehouse design
Implementation engineers establish a data warehouse model for the BI system according to the customer requirements in the project consulting requirements document, and include all the indicators involved in the BI system into the model, establish the relationship between existing customer data and customer needs.
2. Data mart Construction
After the model is built, the implementation engineer configures it in the database to design the data mart. The specific design method depends on the customer's needs and data conditions.
Note: Data mart can also be called "Small Data Warehouse ". If the data warehouse is built on an enterprise-level data model. Data mart is a subset of enterprise-level data warehouses. It is mainly oriented to department-level businesses and only to a specific topic. Data mart can alleviate the bottleneck of data warehouse access to a certain extent.
3. ETL build _ metadata sorting
The implementation engineer completes data dimension sorting, data formula calculation, model building, and other data layer work.
4. ETL build _ ETL Program Implementation
The implementation engineer completes the Implementation of Data statements such as the number, dimension, and algorithm of data.
5. ETL build _ Data Loading
The implementation engineer completes data loading and debugging. So far, all the data-level work in the implementation has been completed.
6. Data presentation application development
At this step, the implementation engineer will implement the presentation form determined at the beginning, and all the linkage effects of Unicom data will be achieved.
7. Release the test version
The implementation engineers debug the system before going online, release the test version to the network, and prepare for testing.
Iv. Project Test and Acceptance
1. System Testing
Party A's Project Committee owner and Party B's project team members shall jointly test the functions and data of the BI system.
2. User Testing
The project committee owner of Party A shall organize various business departments of Party A to perform user testing on the BI system.
3. Project Acceptance
Party A's Project Committee owner shall organize Party A's leadership to carry out the final acceptance of the BI system. After the acceptance is passed, the project will be delivered.
