The design of the database is divided into five phases:
Demand Analysis: The main is to accurately collect the user information needs and processing requirements, and collect the results of the collation and analysis, to form a demand description.
Conceptual structure design: to synthesize, generalize and abstract the user's requirements and form a conceptual model unrelated to the specific DBMS (typically ER models).
Logical Structure Design: Transform the conceptual model of conceptual structure design into a data model supported by a particular DBMS, establish the logical model of database, optimize it, and design the external mode for various users and applications.
Physical Structure design: to design a good logical model to select the physical structure, including storage structure and access methods, to establish a database physical model.
Implementation and maintenance: implementation is to use the DLL language to establish the database schema, the actual data into the database, the establishment of a real database. The maintenance phase is the evaluation, adjustment and modification of the database in operation.
