I have introduced the basic knowledge about wireless Ad-hoc Networks, key technologies, protocols, and so on. I will not repeat it here. Next, we will introduce the applications of layered wireless Ad-hoc networks. I hope this article will give you some knowledge about hierarchical wireless Ad-hoc networks.

Application of hierarchical wireless Ad-hoc Network

As a type of wireless self-networking, wireless Ad-hoc networks can be used in many fields, such as military communication systems, emergency communication systems such as flood control and flood control, commercial application environments, and wireless access networks. Here, based on the characteristics of the wireless Ad-hoc network, we propose another application in civil use: Hierarchical Self-networking.

In the future global mobile communication system, Hierarchical Self-networking can be an important supplement to the cellular mobile communication system. The "seamless" coverage capability of the cellular communication system is very strong, but it provides limited high-speed data services and multimedia services, the maximum data transmission rate of 3rd-generation mobile communication system users is only 2 Mbit/s, but it still cannot fully meet the business needs of future mobile users, especially in hotspot areas with concentrated business. The IP-based grouping and switching technology can be used for Hierarchical Self-networking. Therefore, it is suitable for providing high-speed data and multimedia services in such hot areas. Figure 3 shows the network structure of the layered self-networking.

Some existing access networks, such as wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11) and Bluetooth, are a single-hop Network at the network layer and have no routing function, a layered self-networking is a multi-hop Network. A layered self-networking can be divided into two layers: the access layer and the terminal layer. The access layer consists of multiple AP (Access Point), which can be both a network access point and a user, and the positions of these AP can be moved freely, this layer constitutes a wireless self-networking, and AP-To-AP communication is implemented through mutual forwarding, that is, multi-hop communication. The terminal layer is composed of mobile terminal user groups. They also constitute an self-networking network. multi-hop transmission can also be used for communication between each other, it can also communicate with other micro-Community users or access networks through AP.

As an important supplement to cellular wireless systems, Hierarchical Self-networking also has some technical difficulties to break through, such as over-the-zone switching and roaming, to meet users' needs for fast and dynamic routing technology at high-speed mobile, mobile network management technology. The solution of these technologies is critical and essential for the normal and stable operation of wireless Ad-hoc networks.
