An abandoned power plant in Oxfordshire, England, was successfully dismantled by robots on July 21.
In February this year, the abandoned power plant in the demolition process occurred in a casualty incident, of which four people died on the spot. To avoid a recurrence of the tragedy, the demolition team switched to robots for demolition operations. In order to achieve the 0 dangerous demolition, they use two robot--robot Reacher and R-evolve built by Irish company Reamda to investigate, photograph and record the scene, and use 3D scanners to study the structure of 6 columns in the power plant. After that, the column structure is simulated by the obtained data and the appropriate demolition scheme is specified.
When officially in the demolition phase, the team placed 3 different--c bombs, cut bombs, and kicking bombs through a remote control vehicle (ROV). When everything was ready, the abandoned plant was successfully blasted, and the robot was unharmed during the period of unmanned damage.
