So can we start now? Not yet. We also need to build a test environment. In order to perform a full test as much as possible, we have set up four operating system environments: windows XP, Windows 7, Ubuntu Linux, and Mac OS X. These four operating systems basically cover most non-mobile Internet computers. the Windows XP operating system will be used to test IE 7 and Windows 7 for IE8 and ie9 browsers. In addition to IE, the browsers we tested also include Firefox, chrome, Safari, and opera. The following table lists the combinations of different test environments, computer hardware configurations, and browser versions.
The browser version basically selects the latest stable release version on the operating system. In Windows 7, We will test 6 browsers in total: IE8, ie9, Firefox, chrome, Safari, and opera. Ubuntu Linux only supports Firefox, chrome, and opera.
It is worth mentioning that Internet Explorer, in fact, according to the access logs of the csdn website, the two versions with the highest ie share are IE8 and IE6, respectively, while the ratio of IE7 to ie9 is very low. This statistical result is not surprising because IE8 is pre-installed on Windows 7 and IE6 is pre-installed on Windows XP. Although IE6 has a very high proportion of users, it is second only to IE8, but we don't think it makes much sense to test IE6, so we didn't include IE6 in the test list.
