Build a development environment in one of palm Application Development

The previous article briefly introduced the basic features and features of palm WebOS. The following section describes how to build a development environment on the palm WebOS platform.

1. the following tools must be prepared for mobile application development:

• IDE for application development
• Application Development Kit (SDK)

2. The Palm WebOS application is no exception. You also need to prepare these basic development tools:

• IDE for application development uses eclipse3.4 or later versions.
• Download the palm WebOS SDK 1.4.1 (the latest version is still being updated) from the official website ). Click here to download

• To install Java 1.6 or a later version, enter Java-version in the command line to check whether the version is installed. You can click here to download

• To install virtualbox 3.1.6, click here to download
• To install eclipse3.4, click here to download
• Download the plug-in for Palm WebOS for ipvs3.4
• Install the Aptana plugin

   
   

3. Check whether the installation is successful.

After installing the SDK, enter palm-generate in the command line and press Enter. the SDK is installed successfully.

Choose "All Programs"-> "Palm WebOS SDK"-> "Palm emulator" to start the simulator. A dialog box is displayed.

Display the simulators with two resolutions. Select a "Start enulator" to start the simulator. Click "OK" to display the simulator at startup.

OK indicates that the simulator is successfully installed, and you can debug the program on the simulator later.

Start eclipse, for example:

If it appears in the eclipse toolbar, the plug-in is successfully installed.
