Building Smart iphoto Album Tips

IPhoto's smart photo album must be great for you when you need to look for photos based on your needs (like looking for an updated picture this week). But what if you want to do something more complicated, like looking for pictures of your relatives? Here's a little trick to improve your flexibility.

If you are using iphoto 5, you can use some wildcard characters when you set up a smart album with "any text" criteria. (Of course, you have to add the narrative text for your photo.) )

IPhoto 5 supports these wildcard characters:

*, which means "any character, including no characters";

?, this represents "any one character";

[], which represents a set of characters, or an asterisk and a question mark, lest you need to find those characters exactly.

In each of the above examples, the new Smart folder is used and the standard is "arbitrary text" as the starting point. Here are some facts to consider:

T?m: This includes all the files that contain Tim or Tom, but not them, because there are only 3 characters.

B*e: Contains all files that start with B with the end of E. So you'll see in this folder base and bike and brittle even be. But there is no brighten, because its end is not E.

B?? T: Contains boat and belt but no burnt, because there are 3 characters in the middle, we only look for files with 2 characters.

Mari[ao]n: Contains Marian or Marion.

C*r*: So you will get a lot of results, basically you can say, "The beginning is C, there is a r in the middle, any character behind, including no characters". For example, car, Cars, characterization and chart all meet this standard.

In the end, what do you do to find the asterisk or question mark? Just put them in brackets, like this, kellie[? So the result of finding out is Kellie?

These characters are likely to be very helpful to you. IPhoto has made a "random mix" search for longer bytes in the gallery. For example, I want to put Tim and Tom's photos in the smart albums, and if you enter the search term "Tim", the result will be "Timmy", which is the same as the result of your search for "tim*". Instead of appearing Tom, what about this? Just do what you do here:

When you add characters to a iphoto Smart album, you can find almost any type of collection.

iphoto is very similar to itunes, but do you think you can do this in itunes? Unfortunately, this can only be done in iphoto for the time being.
