Insurance vendor lab UL), a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing and maintaining security standards for multiple industries. UL Communication Wiring

UL divides the cabling used by voice and data systems into "communication cabling and cables", abbreviated as CM. This category provides a variety of security levels for specific applications to test the quality of cable jackets. For details, see:

CMP: Fill-level communication cable, which is the highest cable Safety Grade and has a perfect flame retardant capability with very low smoke and toxin emissions. According to UL's definition, a bundle of CMP cables must be self-extinguished when the fan is forced to burn in dense combustion conditions less than 5 meters. CMP cables use Teflo-based chemicals to prevent the spread of combustion and minimize the amount of smoke and toxin emitted. Compared to cables with lower UL levels, this increases the cost. CM/CMG: Generic Communication Wiring. This is common in horizontal cabling of buildings, which are typically divided into smaller bundles than CMR cables. CM/CMG cables use halogen-based chemical quality. According to definition, in a small bundle of cables, the CM/CMG cable must be extinguished by itself less than 5 meters after combustion diffusion. The flame is not forcibly burned using a fan. The CM/CMG cable jacket is usually made of a type of PVC, which emits chlorine in the combustion chamber. CMX: Residential Communication Wiring. This type of cable is limited to other small applications with a very small number of residential or communication cables used. Low Smoke Zero Halogen LSZH)

The other security level used in the cabling industry is the low smoke and Zero Halogen LSZH) cable. This security level is classified by ISO/IEC standards and is widely used in Europe.

LSZH and ul cmp are used to test the flame retardant capability and emitted gases. As the name suggests, the combustion LSZH will not emit halide gas, and the smoke is very low. LSZH cables can be used for copper and optical fiber communication cables. The LSZH cables are similar to UL-level cables.
