Cadence-orcad Capture CIS schematic tool usage Summary

I have been using Cadence for a while, and now I will summarize the usage of its schematic tool.

1. Signal connection when multiple pages exist

For complex designs, the entire design is generally divided into modules for ease of reading and management. In this case, multiple page pages are used. In Capture CIS, there are three types of signal connections: Network label, hierarchical port, and off-page connector. They vary in application scenarios. Network labels are usually used for signal connections on the current page. Hierarchical ports are used for signal connections at different layers during hierarchical design; the off-page connector Ctor is used for signal connection between different pages during flat design. Although they can be used universally, they are prone to problems if you don't pay attention to them. For exampleHierarchical port is used to connect different page signals in flat circuit design., Although it can also be used,The port types of the connected signals must be consistent. For example, if the CLK signal in the current page uses this port type and is of the input (or output) type, the CLK signal in other pages must also be of the input (or output) type) type. Otherwise, an error occurs. However, if off-page connector is used, there will be no such distinction and no errors. We recommend that you use this feature.

Therefore, we recommend that youComplies with schematic design specifications.

2. display the inter-page identifier when designing multiple pages

In a large design, there are many pages and a large number of signals. To make the display more intuitive, you can add the signals on each page to the identifiers on the previous page. The method is as follows:

A. Call up the annotate comment window under tool, and select Add intersheet references in the Action column of packaging. For example:

B. When the intersheet references window appears, you can set the offset and format of the identifier.

Here, the X axis offset is set to 10, in the format of {n}. You can use other default values. OK, for example:

C. The effect after setting is as shown in figure. In this way, the page of each signal is marked to facilitate the management of each signal, which is intuitive and clear.

3. How to display a property again after it is hidden

The Value Attribute of the resistance element is used as an example. The procedure is as follows:

A. Double-click the component to open the component Properties window.

B. Click the value column and click the display button at the top of the window to switch the format in the display attribute to the desired status. OK.

C. Return the schematic diagram. The hidden value attribute is displayed again.
