Can the VNXe operating system be downgraded?
No.
Currently, there is no rollback solution for the upgrade. Once you start the upgrade process, you must complete it. Before you start upgrading, consider the following:
When you upload a new update file to your system, it will replace the previously uploaded version. The system can only have one update file at a time point.
During the upgrade, do not use uniseries or command line to modify the VNXe configuration.
During the upgrade, uniseries may be temporarily disconnected. After the upgrade is completed, the uniseries connection is automatically rebuilt.
EMC strongly recommends that you perform a system health check about one week before the upgrade to ensure that you have time to address potential problems that may prevent successful updates.
Before upgrading, make sure that all I/O tasks have been submitted. This is not required for systems with dual-storage processor (SP) configurations, because failover and caching process unsubmitted I/O tasks.
Verify network settings and connections to ensure high availability of VNXe. You can manually unplug the network cable inserted on the port running on the CIFS, NFS, or iSCSI server, and ping the IP address (ping loss must not exceed 2 or 3) to verify high availability.
