Last week, Windows platform chrome beta was upgraded to version 5.0.342.8. Based on previous experience, this means Chrome 5 will soon enter the stable branch. The first beta version of 5.x not only supports automatic translation settings and geographic location information APIs, but also increases significantly compared with chrome 4.x.
It was the speed test result of conceivably tech on several mainstream browsers using different testing software. fiercecio Used Chrome 5 beta and ran it again in the same test. The conclusion is as follows:
Figure 1 Google V8 testing:
The higher the score, the better. Chrome's 4.0 score was much higher than safari 3804, which ranked second. Chrome 5 beta scored 4.04, 4456 higher than chrome 4.0.
Figure 2 sunspider Test
The number indicates the completion time (in milliseconds). Of course, the shorter the time, the better. Chrome 4.0 scored 483 milliseconds, while chrome 5 beta scored 19.7% faster. It took only 387.8 milliseconds to complete the test. This score is less than half of ie9's 783.6 milliseconds!
Of course, ie9 is only a preview version, and the official version will definitely improve its performance, but chrome will be 6.x if it doesn't work well...
