Citrix Printer Driver Compatibility brief description

In a Citrix environment, the printing scheme has upd, NPD, UPS, cups, and CPP, and these solutions typically use printer drivers: NPD and upd. Where NPD and UPD are a solution is also a generic term for printer driver types.

Where NPD represents the use of real printer drivers, upd represents the generic printer driver that is used by Citrix development.

While the Citrix print environment is based on the Windows print environment, both NPD and upd follow the Windows print architecture and drive architecture. There are two V3 and V4 for the print architecture and drive structure currently available under Windows, and the V4 architecture is a new architecture in 2012.

Under the V3 architecture, in general, all printer drivers provided by Microsoft have been tested for Terminal Services and are guaranteed to be used in conjunction with Citrix. Before we use the printer, we just need to make sure that the driver has been certified to the Terminal Services of the Windows Hardware quality Labs (WHQL) program. Citrix can be compatible with this driver. But the V4 is different.

The following is a list of support for the Windows V3 and V4 architecture print drivers in the Citrix environment:

-The local V4 driver is not supported on Vdas and clients installed in the Citrix environment.

-Local V4 drivers installed on Vdas and UPS are not supported.

-All V3 drivers installed on the VDA \ UPS \ Client are supported as long as they are in Windows (WHQL) .
