Configuration and management of brocade optical fiber switch (B/S)
This article uses the Brocade 300 optical fiber switch as an example.
The default IP address of the brocade switch is 10.77.77.77. the user name is admin and the password is password.
1. login Management Interface
(1) Add the IP address "10.77.77. ** (Subnet Mask" 255.0.0.0) "to the network connection )";
(2) enter the default IP Address "10.77.77.77" in the browser ",
Press enter to see the Login Dialog Box. Enter the Default User Name "admin" and password "password" to go to the management interface.
To use a browser for configuration management requires the support of the JAVA program running environment; otherwise, the management web page cannot be opened.
(3) After logging in, the following management interface appears.
2. Zone admin settings
Click "zone admin" on the left side of the management interface to go to the following menu. Click "Alias, Zone, and Zone config" in the middle of the left to set the Alias, zone, and configuration file.
(1) set alias
When dividing a vswitch into zones, you can give each port or several ports an alias to make it easy for users to clearly know the purpose or wiring of each port. An alias instance can contain one or more ports as its members. Each member can also belong to multiple alias instances at the same time.
Create alias: Click alias to go To the alias settings tab. Click New alias to create an alias. After the alias is created, you can add the optical fiber interfaces or devices listed in the left-side window to the alias group.
Delete and rename alias: Click Delete to Delete the selected alias. Click Renamel to rename the current alias.
(2) Zone division
Create a zone: click "zone" to go to the "zone configuration" tab, and click "New zones" to create a New zone, after creating a zone, you can divide the vswitch interfaces, WWN devices, and alias groups listed on the left into different zones.
Delete and rename a zone: Click Delete to Delete the selected zone. Click Rename to Rename the created zone. For example.
(3) create a configuration file
Create a configuration file: click "zone config" to go to the configuration file tab. Click "New Zone Config" to create different configuration files and add the configured zones to a configuration file to save the application.
Delete and Rename the configuration file: Click Delete to Delete the selected configuration file. Click Rename to Rename the selected configuration file. See
Save and apply the configuration file: Click save config to save the configuration file. Click Enable config to make the configuration file take effect. After all configuration files are modified, the new configuration takes effect only after the configuration file is re-enabled. Click clear all to clear the current configuration.
3. Switch admin settings
Click "switch admin" on the left side of the management main interface to go to switch settings. The tabs in the middle are left-to-right to manage the basic information, IP address, firmware update, and license import and deletion of the switch.
4. Port admin settings
Click "port admin" on the left of the management main interface to enter port settings. Click All ports on the left to view the status of the port. If the Enable button is unavailable, the port is enabled. Otherwise, you need to click Enable to activate the port.
Note:
(1) When a Configuration is activated, the Zone settings contained in the Configuration will immediately take effect in the SAN network.
(2) There is no default Zone. After the zone function is enabled on the vswitch, all devices not in the Zone cannot access each other.
(3) A device can belong to multiple zones at the same time. Storage devices may be stored in different zones and accessed by hosts in multiple zones.
