Configuration of Sybase database after installation

Sybase Database System Initialization

First, the line initialization program. Log on as Sybase User: CD Install→sybinit

Hint Menu: Sybinit

1. Release directory:/u/sybase free catalog

2. Edit/view interfaces file Edit View interface files

3. config a server product configuration servers products

4. config a Open client/server product configuration client/server products

Under the above tips, first configure the server product, select 3, and the following information appears:

1. SQL Server SQL Servers

2. Backup Server

Select 1, configure the master server, and the prompt menu appears:

1. Configrue a new SQL Server to configure one

2, Configure an existing SQL Server configuration existing SQL Servers

3, Upgrade an existing SQL Server upgrade existing SQL Servers

Select 1 to determine SQL Server name:sybase. Prompt Main Menu:

1. Configure Server ' s interfaces file entry

2, Master device Configure

3, Sybsystem procs devices Configure

Select the first item to confirm the server Name:sybase CTRL + a determination. Prompt message appears:

1, Retry Count:3

2, Retry Polay:3

3. ADD a Newlistener service

Select 3 to configure the TCP network information, and the following information appears:

EDIT TCP SERVICE

1, Host Name/address→cwserver

2, port→5000

3, Name Alias

Select item 2nd to configure the Master device:

1, Master device:/u/sybase/master,dat

2. Size (MEG): 21→30

Select Item 3rd to configure the Sybase system process library:

1. Syb systemprocs Database Size (Meg): 16→30

.........

5, Size of the new device (MEG) 16→30

The 4th Item ~ ~ ~ ~ 9th Item, directly confirms can.

Configuring a Backup server

Back to Sybinit's main menu, select 2, configure the backup server, and the prompt menu appears:

BACKUP SERVER CONFIGURATION

1. Backup Server Errorlog:/u/sybase/install/errorlog

2. enter/modify Backup Server Interfaces File information

Option 2, prompt: Server name:sys_backup

1, Retry Count:3

2, Retry Delay:3

3. Add a Newlistener Service

Option 3, on item 2nd: port→5001
