The company's servers provide VPN access points so that they can be connected to the company's servers through a VPN at home. Yesterday afternoon to apply for a VPN account, and then first try to connect the VPN server under Windows, all okay, to prove that their VPN account is not a problem, so today is ready to configure the VPN under the access environment.
The VPN client that I use is the pptp-linux provided in the Ubuntu official source. sudo apt-get install pptp-linux download to install the PPTP client first.
Then looked up the PPTP manual, also searched the internet for a while, and found that the PPTP command-line options seemed relatively simple:
sudo PPTP user password < password >.
The company's VPN server's extranet IP is 100.100.1.1, intranet IP is 192.168.1.1,vpn username is hello, the password is Hello, so after calling the following command:
The code is as follows:
sudo pptp 100.100.1.1 user Hello password hello
Again ifconfig, found a new add a name called Ppp0 network connection, the corresponding IP address should be connected with the VPN server to belong to the intranet address belonging to the same network segment. The IP address for the newly added PPP0 network connection in my scenario is 192.168.1.x. This newly established PPP0 connection is used to provide VPN connection services.
Then I will try to ping the company's VPN server intranet IP 192.168.1.1, can normal ping pass. Ping another server, such as 192.168.1.10, and found the ping command failed! It's confusing, it took some time to think about it, guess it might be that the appropriate gateway to the corporate server is not set correctly. So try:
The code is as follows:
Route add 192.168.1.10 GW 192.168.1.1
Then try to ping 192.168.1.10, this time you can ping the normal.
Then try SSH login 192.168.1.10, also successful.
So far, I have configured the VPN workspace under Ubuntu.
