Configure the command interpreter used by the Telnet server

You can use this process to change the command interpreter used by the Telnet server and displayed for the user in its Telnet session.
By default, the command interpreter is % systemroot % \ system32 \ cmd.exe. You can change it to any command interpreter by changing the registry value.
Membership or equivalent identity in the Local Administrators Group is the minimum requirement to complete this process.
Note:
Improper registry editing may cause serious damage to the system. All important data on the computer should be backed up before the registry is changed.
Procedure for changing the command interpreter used by the Telnet server
Start Registry Editor. Click Start, type regedit in the Start search box, and then press Enter.
If the "User Account Control" dialog box appears, confirm that the operation you want to perform is displayed, and click "continue ".
Open the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ TelnetServer \ 1.0
Double-click the Shell registry key.
In the "value data" text box, type the complete path and name of the program to be interpreted using the command.
Other considerations for configuring the Telnet server
The Registry Key DefaultShell is not changed. You cannot change this value. You can only change the value of the Shell registry key.
