Create an MPT for the terrabuilder operation

MPT is the terrain data in the skyline 3D release, including the DEM and Dom of the terrain, which can render and generate Realistic 3D terrain.

I. Data Preparation

The data generated for MPT mainly includes the DEM (tif file) and Dom (tif file) of the region to which it belongs. Therefore, before you open terrabuilder to generate an MPT file, you must first create DEM and Dom through ArcGIS.

1. DEM Data Generation

Open the elevation scatter SHP file (with elevation field information) or contour SHP File In ArcMap, and then useArctoolbox-> 3 danalyst tools-> data managerment-> Tin-> creat TinTool to create tin. Shows the interface:

After creating tin, useArctoolbox->3 danalyst tools->Conversion-> from Tin-> Tin to rasterThe tool converts tin to raster.

After the conversion is complete, use the right-click attribute command in the directory tool to create or modify the raster space reference,

Now the DEM file of the terrain is created.

2. Create a digital photo (DOM)

Dom production requires a range of remote sensing images or aerial images. The simplest method is to extract the images we need from google Earth. To ensure accuracy, we need a small range of screenshots, then, rectify the vulnerability based on known features and reference points. This article mainly studies the DOM full image required by TB. Here we will not repeat Image Correction and other problems. For details, refer to ArcGIS.

First, use ArcGIS to open a digital photo, and register the image with the terrain to ensure that the image can accurately overwrite the current area and modify the space reference of the image, make sure that the image space reference is consistent with the DEM. The specific modification method is the same as that for the raster file space reference.

Secondly, the exported image data is in Tif format, and the export method is the same as that of the DEM file.

Ii. MPT Production

Open terrabuilder to create a project

　　

Set engineering parameters

　　

After confirmation

　　

Load the image file and DEM file according to the corresponding buttons. After loading is confirmed, click Create MPT to create the MPT file.

Iii. Notes

Make sure that the DEM and Dom are consistent during the production process. Otherwise, black blocks and other problems may easily occur.
