Some time ago in the collation of computer data, you need to compress a 11G folder to the I disk, the results of the process of compression error error, prompted "File write error, disk FAT32 file system, the maximum file can not exceed 4GB."

What is this all about? Find the data, only to find that the original FAT32 file system, the maximum number of supported files can not exceed 4G. You can support more than 4G of files only if you convert the disk format to NTFS format. No way, in order for files to be copied to the I disk, I can only convert the I disk to NTFS format. Next, I will share my conversion experience!

Method One: If the disk you want to convert is empty or the file you are storing is less

1. If there are fewer files or files on the disk, you can back up the file to another disk and then format the disk to convert it. Backups can be done directly by copying and pasting. Here we use compressed software to back up files. First, select all the files on the I disk that need to be backed up, and right-click "Add to Compressed file".

2, choose the backup path and file name, click "Compress Now", the file for backup.

3, after the completion of the file backup, in the "I disk" letter on the right button, select "format."

4, in the "Format" window, the file system select "NTFS", click "Start" to format the disk. When finished, the disk becomes the NTFS file system, and after restoring the backed-up files, you can save more than 4G of large files.

Method Two: If the disk you want to convert has more files stored

1, if you want to convert the disk storage of more files, backup up time consuming power, then the method is not suitable. However, we can implement lossless conversion of the disk format with the Convert command from the Windows system. Convert/? You can see the convert command format.

2, click: Start Menu-run, in the Run dialog box input: cmd, enter the cmd command window open.

3, in the command window according to the format of the convert command input: Convert I:/FS:NTFS, enter the disk I to start format conversion. Where I: represents the disk letter to convert. FS is the abbreviation for the FileSystem file system. The command runs complete, prompting the conversion to succeed.

4, at this time, save more than 4G files will be no problem.
