Recently, there have been signs of Calculus Teaching Reform ("cr") in China, which deserves our attention. Why?
In fact, the "New Wave" of this calculus reform in China is followed by Zhang jinwen (late) and Yuan Meng's "non-standard analysis" trend thirty years ago. Since November 2012, Yuan Meng has successively published more than 200 popular science articles on Infinitely small calculus, which has a certain social impact. Now, search for keywords in the field of Infinitely small calculus on the Internet, such as infinitely small, super real, and new function definitions. Relevant articles will pop up immediately for readers to check, the Teaching Reform of calculus is very promising. However, this "Flash" is on the Internet, not in the school classroom.
J.
The online plan of Keisler basic calculus electronic edition (pocket e-books) is now emerging. For example, if you search for the keyword "section 1.5 is infinitely small", you can read J. the relevant chapters in the original Keisler electronic version. This is only the first step. Now there are several clerks in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen for transcription (including semantic proofreading), the upload speed is expected to be further accelerated, and the document quality must be significantly improved, in order to ensure the use of the new semester this year.
This large-scale Calculus Teaching Reform (CR) in China will be supported and cooperated by Professor J. Keisler. At present, dedicated personnel are responsible for the relevant contact work. On July 6, July 3, J. Keisler sent Xiaofeng to the Chinese contact.
Ms. Zhang sent the following email:
Dear Xiaofeng,
Thank you for your message. I will look forward to learn more about the China calculus reform movement,
And wish you the best.
Sincerely,
H. Jerome Keisler
Some people say that this is a "follower" behavior and is not self-developed. We said: Something becomes more appealing when it comes to China, including calculus, basic concepts such as variables and functions. J. Keisler, a calculus textbook with more than one thousand strict definitions, is tantamount to an encyclopedia of calculus for beginners of mathematics.
Some people say that it is not good to use English teaching materials. We are going to take two steps: first teaching material in English and then teaching material in Chinese. For English teaching materials, we work with Chinese tutoring materials to cultivate and improve students' English reading skills. We are confident that the current Chinese Calculus Teaching Reform on the Internet will surely attract the attention of the world.
