Debian entry-level installation and configuration 1
Recently, multiple Linux versions have been installed, including Ubuntu, fedora, centos, and Debian. We found that only Debian has the best performance in terms of interface and stability, and I like it most, so I finally chose to use Debian for a long time as my home laptop operating system and want to use Debian to learn more about Linux, therefore, here we will record some problems and solutions encountered during the use of Debian on a daily basis.
1. Debian Installation
Choosing the Debian version is crucial for beginners. When I install Debian, the official stable version released by Debian is 7.7. The best option for installing the desktop is to select the installation package of the DVD version. The CD version is too simple. After installation, You need to manually install many components, which is troublesome and not very simple. So select the debian-7.7.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso version, as to the official website to give the DVD-2 and DVD-3 are Debian software installation report, only the DVD-1 can be separately installed and used as IOS.
Try not to select the CD version. I used to press a CD version, more than six hundred mb. After installation, I found that there were a lot of things missing and it was too troublesome to complete them one by one, therefore, it is best to make a DVD installation disc or start a USB flash disk. Poweriso is the easiest way to create and install a CD or USB flash disk in a Linux operating system.
As for the installation process, you can find it on the Internet. It is easier to install it as prompted by yourself.
2. Wireless Networks
After Debian is installed, you cannot connect to the wireless network. It is best to prepare a network cable. After the system is installed, use the network to perform networking operations. We cannot connect to the wireless network because Debian does not install the NIC driver, so we need to install the NIC Driver ourselves.
First, search for the following network card version of the current computer, and find the driver installed by version. My laptop Nic version is Intel Wireless WiFi 5100agn, so you can find the corresponding Debian Driver Installation Method by searching these keywords on the Internet, I Debian Driver Installation Method is according to the method here installed successfully (https://wiki.debian.org/iwlwifi ). You can install the SDK by following the instructions.
I have successfully installed the wireless network driver as follows:
In/Etc/APT/sources. ListAdd the following source (content) to the file)
# Debian 7 "wheezy" Deb http://http.debian.net/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free
Then run the following command on the terminal: (Root User)
# Apt-Get update
# Apt-Get install firmware-iwlwifi
# Apt-Get update
# Apt-Get install firmware-iwlwifi
# Modprobe-r iwlwifi
# Modprobe iwlwifi
Check whether the installation is successful. If the installation is successful, enter the following command and a description about wlan0 appears. This indicates that the wireless NIC Driver is successfully installed.
# Iwconfig
3. ibus Input and Output
The installation of the Chinese input method is also the main task to be carried out after the system is installed, because we cannot leave Chinese. I chose the ibus-pinyin Chinese input method.
# Apt-Get install ibus-clutter ibus-GTK ibus-gtk3 ibus-qt4
# Im-switch-s ibus // This command can pass through, and I fail to execute it successfully, and ibus can also use
# Apt-Get install ibus-pinyin
# Ibus-setup // The ibus settings window will pop up after you execute this command. You can set it and restart your computer to use the ibus-Pinyin input method.
4. Problems with APT-Get
When you use apt-get to install software, the following command always appears, prompting you to insert a CD,
Media change: Please insert the disc labeled 'debian GNU/Linux 7.7.0 _ wheezy _-official amd64 DVD
This problem is mainly caused/Etc/APT/sources. ListThe disc is the first primary source, so we are prompted to insert the disc. If we shield the disc source, we can use the network source to install the software.
The original sources. list is as follows:
Deb CDROM: [Debian GNU/Linux 7.7.0 _ wheezy _-official amd64 DVD Binary-1 20141018-]/wheezy contrib main
The blocking method is to add #
# Deb CDROM: [Debian GNU/Linux 7.7.0 _ wheezy _-official amd64 DVD Binary-1 20141018-]/wheezy contrib main
