DHCP server ip mac binding is what we will introduce next. As we all know, in network management, we usually encounter some IP address tampering. Some users change the IP address without authorization, resulting in IP address conflict and other users cannot access the Internet. In this case, our network administrator will use the IP address and MAC Address binding policy to prevent IP address theft. In DHCP servers, we usually reserve some IP addresses for some network devices for special purposes, such as routers and print servers, if the client changes its IP address to these addresses without permission, the devices will not work properly. In this case, we need to reasonably configure these IP addresses to bind to the MAC address to prevent the retained IP addresses from being stolen.

DHCP server ip mac binding Step 1: Understand the MAC address of the client

Enter the "CMD" command in "start"-"run" of the client to bind the client to open the Windows 2003 Command Prompt window. Enter "IPCONFIG/ALL" to view the network configuration information. The hexadecimal number after NIC is the MAC address of the machine. As shown in red)

DHCP server ip mac binding Step 2: implement the IP address and MAC Address binding policy

Open the DHCP server console to show the created DHCP server. Right-click the "retain" option and choose "New retain. For example)

Figure select new retain option

In the displayed dialog box, enter the reserved computer name in "name". In the "ip address" option, the IP address of the MAC address must be bound. Here, enter the IP address 192.168.0.1 of the gateway, in the "MAC address" option, add the previously seen MAC address in the client to it. In this way, we add a MAC address bound to the gateway device router on the network, so that this address will no longer be stolen.

The above steps enable MAC binding of the IP address of the DHCP server.
