Differences and settings for Huawei Access, hybrid, and trunk

Ethernet ports have three types of links: Access, Hybrid, and trunk:

The connection terminals of these three types of links are different:

Access type ports can only belong to 1 VLANs and are typically used to connect to a computer's port;

The trunk type port allows multiple VLANs to be passed and can receive and send packets of multiple VLANs, typically used for connecting ports between switches;

The hybrid type port allows multiple VLANs to be passed, can receive and send packets of multiple VLANs, can be used to connect between switches, and can be used to connect users ' computers.

There are also differences in the processing of these three types of link data:

Acess Port Ticker:

Receive a message to determine if there is VLAN information: if not, the upper port of the Pvid, and exchange forwarding, if there is a direct discard (default)

Acess Port transmitter:

Split the VLAN information of the message and send it directly

Trunk Port Ticker:

Receive a message to determine if there is VLAN information: if there is no pvid on the upper port, and exchange forwarding, if there is a decision to determine whether the trunk port to allow the VLAN data entry: If you can forward, otherwise discard

Trunk Port transmitter:

Compare Port Pvid and VLAN information that will send packets, if they are equal, Peel VLAN information, send it, and send it if not equal

Hybrid Port Ticker:

Receive a message to determine whether there is VLAN information: If there is no hit the port of Pvid, and exchange forwarding, if there is to determine whether the hybrid port allows the data entry of the VLAN: If you can forward, otherwise discard (at this time the port of the UNTAG configuration is not considered, UNTAG configuration only works when sending messages

Hybrid Port transmitter:

1, to determine the VLAN in the properties of this port (disp interface can see the port to which VLAN is UNTAG, which VLAN is tag)

2, if the UNTAG is stripped VLAN information, and then sent, if the tag is sent directly

Generally speaking, the hybrid port and the trunk port when receiving data, the processing method is the same, the only difference is that when sending data: The hybrid port allows multiple VLAN packets to be sent without a label, while the trunk port only allows the default VLAN message to be sent without marking.
