/usr/dt
This directory is the installation location for the Solaris CDE. It can also be the installation point for a remote file server.

This directory contains custom workstation-specific configuration files. These files allow you to customize your environment in the following ways:
Set X-server configuration options
Using multiple screens
Customizing workstation action files, data types, icons, and fonts
/var/dt
This directory holds temporary files for use with Solaris CDE applications such as login manager and application Manager.
$HomeDirectory
This directory contains user-specific files that are related to the user's desktop settings. They include modifications to applications, color matching schemes, workspace menus, and front panels, as well as some error records.
