Disable automatic operation of Cd, USB flash drive, mobile hard drive, and other devices

In the XP system, if you insert a mobile device, such as a USB flash drive or a mobile hard disk, the system will automatically search for media files and play back the files. If you want to disable the automatic playback function of Windows XP at one time, follow these steps:

1. Click Start> Run. In the open box, type gpedit. MSC and click OK to open the Group Policy window;

2. In the left pane, under "Local Computer Policy", expand "Computer Configuration> management template> System", and then under the "Settings" title in the right pane, double-click "Disable automatic playback ";

3. Click the "Settings" tab, select the "enabled" Check button, click "All Drives" in the "Disable automatic playback" box, and click "OK, close the "Group Policy" window.

This "Disable automatic playback" setting also exists in "user configuration. However, the settings in "Computer Configuration" take precedence over those in "user configuration. Note that the "Disable auto-play" setting cannot prevent auto-play of the music CD disk. To prevent automatic playback of music CD, you only need to use the attribute setting method.
