Do not miss out: some unknown security features of Vista

So far, you may have heard of many major security features of Vista, such as User Account Control (UAC) and defender malware. In fact, there are many other useful and noteworthy features in this brand-new operating system. Simultaneous Server Message (synchronous Server Message), Internet Explorer 7 protected mode (IE7 protection mode), and phishing filter (Phishing Filter) are several examples.

Synchronous Server Message features can be immediately warned when someone wants to establish a point-to-point connection with your computer. Therefore, if you seldom (or never) want a stranger to access your shared information, such as shared music, you can use a synchronous Server Message to reject their access and prompt the reason.

Or, in turn, block phishing attacks. During phishing attacks, the Inspector spoofs users to click links that direct them to websites containing malware. Generally, these counterfeited sites are very similar to the counterfeited banks or financial sites. As a matter of fact, hackers are constantly imitating authoritative websites such as the Bank of Manhattan, online, eBay, and Amazon.

Vista's phishing attack filter can protect both IE7 and Windows Mail Client protection policies. Microsoft uses a hybrid technology to avoid phishing attacks. First, IE7 and Windows Mail check all links and website information in E-mail to check whether the links match the items in the list of malicious sites. One of the technologies used is to check whether the displayed link is consistent with the actual link.

In our computer, Vista also stores a backup of the blacklist of phishing sites. Vista compares it with the site you visit. If you want to, you can also submit links to sites that are not determined to be phishing attacks to Microsoft for further research.

Another new feature, the protection mode of IE7, is to give browsers more powerful than other applications.ProgramThis can limit the damage caused by attacks on the Internet.

However, like other known Vista security tools, new security features are very easy to use. However, in Windows XP, whether you are interested in IE7 protection mode or phishing attack filters, forget it! Protection mode and phishing attack filter are built-in functions in Vista. Therefore, although IE7 can run on XP, protection mode is unavailable under XP.

In addition, the protection mode is not perfect. So far, it is known that in some cases it will cause interference to the normal activities of Some browsers, such as the password saved for a website.

It is also surprising that the phishing filter is disabled by default. However, you don't need to worry about it. You didn't enable it on the welcome page when Vista is installed for the first time. You can also enable it in the IE7 "tool" command menu.
