Writing a document, a sudden blackout, will the document be lost? This is a problem that many users often encounter. How can I save the finished document to the fullest extent? WPS Office 2005 provides a set of backup management mechanisms that make a reasonable use of this mechanism and play an important role in protecting documents.
The following is a WPS text for example, how to do a good job of backup management of documents.
Set up a scheduled backup
Open the WPS text, select the Tools | Options menu item on the main menu, and select the "General and save" tab in the pop-up dialog box. Depending on the situation, change the contents of the recovery options, as shown in Figure 1:
Figure 1 Recovery option settings
Generate backup file on first Save: Indicates that when the document is opened for editing, the backup in the system's backup directory is generated the first time it is saved, and the file suffix is named Bak.
Scheduled backups: As shown in Figure 1, when editing a document, the system automatically backs up every 10 minutes, and the backup files are automatically updated to the backup files generated by the last automatic backup, with the file suffix named WPS.
The main menu selects the View | task pane menu item or presses the CTRL + F1 key combination, and from the task pane drop-down menu, select Backup Management as shown in Figure 2.

In the Backup Management window, lists information for automatic backup documents that are not saved manually in edit state and are formed automatically by the system. As shown in Figure 3. If you need to delete a backup document, click the Drop-down button on the right side of the document, select the Delete menu item in the Drop-down menu to delete the backup document, or click the "Remove all" button directly below Figure 3 if you want to remove all of your backup documents.

Note: If a manual save is made, the document 3 in Figure 3 is saved manually by the main Menu "file | save", and then the backup management is turned on again, and document 3 is not in the backup list. Unexpected cases (such as power outages, crashes) caused by the interruption of editing, you can restore the automatic backup of the edited documents through backup management.
