The column functionality in Excel is useful, but it only separates the data in the cell into the same row. If you want to separate the contents of a cell into the same column, Excel does not provide a direct "branch" feature, usually by separating it into the same row and then pasting it into a column by selecting "Transpose". However, in some special cases, you can extract the contents of a cell directly into the cells of the same column without having to use the columns or formulas. For example, a cell contains not too long English sentences or a space-delimited number, you can use the Excel fill function to extract words or numbers to each cell in the same column one at a time, a bit like "branch."
For example A1 cell contains English sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog", the steps are as follows:
Select A1 cell to adjust the width of the cell to a smaller number, such as no more than 3 characters. If a cell has a large column width, it may contain more than one word in a cell after a branch.
Then do the following:
Excel 2003: Click menu "edit → fill → content rearrange";
Excel 2007/2010: On the Start tab, in the Edit group, click fill → justify
Excel pops up a dialog box that prompts "text to go out of range" and clicks OK.
You can see that each word is automatically populated into cells in column A.

Similarly, the above method can be used to include some numbers separated by spaces, such as "10000 10 100 1000 1 100 10000 100000 10 1000000". Although the length of these words or numbers is different, Excel always populates the cells with the same column with a space-delimited number or word.
It should be noted that this method does not apply to Chinese text, and that the characters within the cell cannot exceed 255 characters, otherwise the characters will be truncated. In addition, the contents of the original cell will disappear after the fill, and you can do so in the copied cells if you want to preserve the contents of the original cell.
