I recently tested the domino platform for a project. During this process, I found some mistakes in the description of many documents on the Internet, next we will deploy Domino + QuickPlace + Sametime (do, qP, and ST respectively) from the beginning ).
I. Preparations This deployment uses the domino7 series, Chinese environment, no cluster (Single Server), qP and St integration. Other server configurations are not qualitative, but the memory should be above 1 GB, because the three components consume about MB of memory in the idle state. (Boiled beans Note: We recommend that you deploy ST in the production environment separately, because st consumes a lot of resources on the system .) Preparation includes the following parts: 1. win2003 system. Install the corresponding patch, mainly because it is secure and has no effect on do installation. R2 is recommended. This requirement is optional. 2. Java environment. You can directly install the corresponding version on www.java.com. 3. office environment. This is to call office creation when publishing office collaborative editing documents. 2003 is recommended. However, if you are using an extremely minor version of dor5, you still need to use Office2000, otherwise it will not be recognized. 4. It is best to have a DNS environment in the network. For example, a DNS server exists. Optional. 5. The host name must not be out of order. Once again, you must plan host name, workgroup/domain, and other parameters. Possible problems will be discussed later. 6. It is best to confirm the Host IP Address Configuration. Do not change the Host IP address after it is installed. This may also cause problems. (Boiled beans Note: Make sure to develop a good habit before installation, prepare do required information, such as organization information, user information, password settings, and so on; secondly, pay attention to the record during the installation process. After the installation is completed, many parameter settings are missing .)
2. Prepare for batch addition of customer data You can use the admin to manually add do users, but it is unrealistic to have a large number of users. Fortunately, do provides us with the text file import function. All do parameters are as follows:
Sequence |
Parameters |
Input |
1 |
Surname |
User name. This parameter is required. |
2 <excluding zero> |
Name |
User name. |
3 <excluding zero> |
Initial name |
The first letter of the user's intermediate name. |
4 |
Organizational Unit |
The name of another level added to the level name. This name distinguishes two users with the same name and verified by the same validators. |
5 |
Password |
The user's password. This parameter is required. |
6 |
Identifier file directory |
The directory that stores the User Identifier. In addition to storing the identifier as an attachment in the Domino Directory, you can also store the identifier in this directory or not as an attachment in the Domino Directory, but only in this directory. This directory must be created before registration. To make this parameter take effect, select the file option in the "identifier information" Panel to store the User Identifier. This parameter will overwrite the default identifier directory displayed in the "register individual" "Create Project" dialog box. |
7 |
Identifier file name |
The name of the object to be specified. This file name applies only when the identifier is stored in the identifier file directory. If the User Identifier file name is not specified, the name in the identifier is based on the personal name. |
8 |
Email server name |
The name of the email server. This parameter will overwrite the parameters selected during registration. |
9 |
Mail File directory |
The user's mail file directory. |
10 |
Email file name |
The name of the user email file. If this parameter is not used and the user uses Notes mail, the name is based on the user's name. |
11 |
Location |
The location description added to the user's personal document. If someone wants to mail the mail to this user, and the other user has the same name, the notes will display the location to help the sender differentiate the two users. |
12 |
Note |
Add a comment to the user's "personal" document. |
13 |
Forwarding Address |
A complete route to the user, such as a JSmith@acme.com. If you do not enter this information in a text file, you can edit the "forwarding address" field in your "personal" document. This parameter can only be used for "other" or "other Internet" mail users. |
14 |
Summary table |
The name of the brief table. |
15 |
Local administrator |
Username with the "author" access level for the Domino Directory. This person can modify the user's "personal" document. |
16 |
Internet address |
The Internet address of the user. This parameter is required for Lotus Notes, POP3, Domino Web Access, and IMAP emails. |
17 |
Abbreviation |
This name is input by default. If no Internet address is entered, the internet address will be returned in short. |
18 |
Equivalent name |
The user's equivalent name. Note that the validators used to register this user must contain the equivalent name language. |
19 |
Equivalent organizational unit |
Used to distinguish words of two users with the same name and verified by the same validators. Note that the validators used to register this user must contain the equivalent name language. |
20 |
Email Template File |
The name of the email template to use. |
Don't worry about so many parameters. Only the surname and password are required. So how can we write this TXT file? The do format is as follows: the parameters are separated. For example, the following lines in a text file only specify the surname and password:
Alexis; password1
The following lines in the text file specify the complete name, master server, and user setting policy:
Alexis; Catherine; R.; password1; marketing/Acme; Marketing profile each row has one user. However, you may also find it difficult to write this text file. For example, you need to add many similar parameters, such as units and departments, line by line. There are two tips to solve this problem: first, use Excel + ultraedit32 to copy and edit the format and the same parameters in Excel using column editing; then export the data to UE and complete the text with block operations. The second is to directly use an Excel template for editing, and then copy and paste it into a text file. (Recommended) see the attachment after the template is downloaded.
Iii. Domino Server Installation After preparing these materials, we can deploy do. (Only the unique process is omitted below. For example, the entire operation has only one "Next ......) First, run Setup in IBM. Lotus. Domino. server. This installation is based on Java. Select the corresponding installation location. If this is not the first do server in the network, check the box.
We recommend that you select Enterprise Edition. You can also customize or install only some services.
Have a cup of coffee. Do not start the configuration after completion. Install the language pack first. (Boiled beans note: this is because no Language Pack has been used yet. Once the Language Pack is not marked at this time, start the do service and call again. Your management interface and mailbox will always be in English !! Remember !!!)
4. Install the Chinese Language Pack Run domlp70_gui.exe in IBM. Lotus. Domino. server. v7.0.chinese. Language. Pack. Program Based on Java.
Select a language. The language here only affects the installation process.
Follow the do directory above. In fact, the directory specified here is to ask where you want to install do, because the installation of the Language Pack will detect whether to install the do server. Select "no" unless you want to reinstall the Domino server.
Lock the do directory again. This time, we asked where to put the Language Pack.
Replace must be selected here. The "add" option is invalid.
After detecting the version, select the Chinese Language Pack. If you have a multi-country Language Pack, the list of languages supported by the pack is listed here. Then wait until the installation is complete. (Boiled beans Note: You need to configure the server first, otherwise QP and St cannot be installed, because they need various configured and running do environments, such as ID support .)
5. Configure the Domino server Run the Lotus Domino Server icon on the desktop.
You can choose to start a service or a common application process. There is no difference in server performance, except that the service is automatically started after it is registered as a service.
Still Java.
The font is not good. Let's change it first.
Here is a chance to make a mistake and change itself. Ask again whether it is the first server or the affiliated server.
Enter the server name and title. (Note: The server name and machine name must be the same. Otherwise, some components of sametime cannot be started, such as the video conferencing service.) If the server is reinstalled, you can import the previous server. id. This ID stores the authentication information of the server.
Enter the company name, cert. ID password, and you can also import the CERT. ID backed up earlier. This ID is used to verify various user IDs and can be considered as a CA root certificate.
The Domino domain name indicates that all servers installed later must be added to this domain; otherwise, they cannot work together. Unless the domino gateway is installed.
Configure the Administrator account and password. ID backup can be generated here. The administrator ID is the user credential used to manage Domino. (Boiled beans Note: you must pay attention to the backup of these three IDs and the user IDs generated later. If you have these creden), you can restore the user password and server environment)
Select the service to be configured. You can also configure the service based on your needs in the future management interface.
Make sure that the host name is consistent.
You can select guest permissions and Management permissions. It is recommended. Otherwise, there will be a lot of restrictions.
Wait until the configuration is complete.
Then run the Server icon again to start the server. Many of my friends may be disappointed. Why is there only one dark console interface for expensive and ambitious servers without a GUI? In fact, the reason is very simple. As a cross-platform product, Domino needs to be used in Linux, UNIX, and other environments. If the GUI is used, there will be two negative effects: first, increasing development costs and difficulty in maintenance. The GUI should be developed on different platforms. In addition, most non-win servers in practical applications do not install GUI environments at all. Second, it increases system instability. As we all know, the graphic interface is not as stable as cmd. Good. The first part is introduced here first. For the following content, please refer to Domino + qucikplace + sametime to build an Enterprise Office Platform graphic strategy (II).
