The basics of Dreamweaver MX 2004 are described earlier, and you can use these methods flexibly to create a fine web site. After the completion of these operations, our online home process can be said to have gone half, the rest is to upload the Web page to the site and the Post maintenance update operation of the page. In fact, these tasks are not complex, as long as we through the Dreamweaver MX 2004 built-in site management features can be easily achieved!

First, custom site
First we'll find some space on the Internet for the home page, and then we can customize the site in Dreamweaver MX 2004.

First step
Run the site → manage site command, and click the "new → site" button in the pop-up window to create a new site.

Second Step
At the left of the Site Settings window, select Local information, and then in the right section, enter the name of the site, the path to the local file, and so on.

Third Step
The system selects "remote information" at the left of the window, then the remote FTP site Transfer type (generally FTP), the remote server holds the file path, host address, username, password, and so on, when the application space is entered in the right section. At the same time, according to the site's transmission mode to choose whether to use the "Access FTP", this is because some of the FTP site passive mode of work, for this part of the site to select the item (see Figure 1).

Tip: After you have entered all the information, you can click the "Test" button to see if you can successfully log on to the remote FTP server.

Fourth Step
After confirmation, Dreamweaver MX 2004 will automatically appear in the Site auxiliary panel, first click the "Connect" button to establish a connection to the remote station, and then press the "Extend/collapse" button on the right-hand side of the auxiliary panel, and then the secondary panel can be extended (see Figure 2). By default, the left window displays files from the remote site, and the right window is the file on the local hard disk.

Fifth Step
In the right local hard disk window with the mouse to select the file to upload, and drag it to the left of the remote server in the corresponding directory to start file transfer operation, a little wait a moment after the completion of the File upload task.

Tip: You can select multiple file uploads by using the "Shift" or "Ctrl" button.

After uploading all of the page files, we can open IE browser, enter the corresponding URL address to see the carefully crafted site.
