Pear OS is an interface much like Mac's Linux distro, based on Ubuntu, free. Unfortunately, Pear was acquired anonymously by a large company, so it is not updated now, the final version is Pear 8. There is a pear alternative to elementaryos, but for the time being the latter is less beautiful than the former.
The general Ubuntu-based system can be used hard disk installation method, simple and fast. Refer to using EASYBCD to install Ubuntu in WIN7/8 HDD.
Here is the difference between easybcd and pear .
- The files presented in the Ubuntu Casper folder are called Initrd.lz,pear Systems called initrd.gz. LZ and. GZ are all compressed file formats. When configuring the Menu.lst file, be careful to change the INITRD/INITRD. LZ.
- When you install Ubuntu, as long as there are ISO, INITRD.LZ, vmlinuz three files on the C drive. But the pear is not enough, only these three files the following error occurs during the restart installation:
(INITRAMFS) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system
The solution is : In addition to the above three files, but also to extract the Pear.iso files to the C packing directory. This method comes from http://www.ubuntukylin.com/ukylin/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=11422&extra=
- When you install Ubuntu, go inside LiveCD and perform sudo umount-l/isodevice. But when the pear was loaded, it was umount-l with sudo/cdrom
# Ubuntu sudo umount -l/isodevice# pearsudoumount -l/cdrom
The other steps are the same as Ubuntu.
On a few pages, pear's interface is really beautiful.
